A nozzle check catches partial blockages before they become permanent. Cleaning reactively (only after a bad print) is how operators end up replacing $1,500 printheads.
Do not run more than two powerful cleans in a row. Excessive cleaning floods the capping station and wastes ink without fixing the issue.

Load a plain sheet or use the built-in nozzle pattern.
Print the nozzle check from the maintenance menu.
Inspect the white channel rows for missing segments.
If 1–3 nozzles missing: run a single normal clean.
If 4+ nozzles missing: run a powerful clean, then re-check.
Reprint the check. If still failing, escalate to supervisor.
